From Al-Abbas
to MAG — a
continental power house.

MAG Trade & Investment is one of the region's prominent groups contributing to the development of trade flows and transport & logistics systems between Africa and the Middle East — a story that began in Cairo in 1997 as Al-Abbas, founded by chairman Mohamed Atta Gad.

I · Origin

From freight
to a continental house.

Our journey began in the late 1990s under the name Al-Abbas for Transport and Logistics Services, operating across Africa and the Middle East — supporting supply chains and infrastructure development between Egypt and North Sudan and South Sudan.

The company evolved into Egyptian Castle for Investment in the early 2000s, becoming a key player in cross-border trade. In 2011 we expanded into international trade in strategic commodities between Egypt and several African and Arab markets.

In 2022 the group was established as MAG Trade & Investment — an integrated economic and investment platform with diversified activities spanning mining, renewable energy and telecommunications.

From 2025, we have continued to expand across the African continent — securing mining licenses in Chad and implementing agricultural, healthcare and industrial development projects across North Sudan and South Sudan, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Liberia, on a Vision 2035 horizon.

II · Creed

The idea
that started it all.

That the most useful businesses in this region are the ones that move what other people need — at scale, on time, between borders that rarely cooperate.

01 — Vision

A regional leader.

To position MAG as a leading regional partner in advancing trade, transport and investment networks — supporting economic integration between Africa and the Middle East through advanced logistics solutions and sustainable strategic investments.

02 — Mission

Move what matters.

To provide high-efficiency transport and logistics solutions, and strengthen trade systems through balanced investments across natural resources and energy, infrastructure, agricultural and food production, and medical equipment.

03 — Vision 2035

Built for the continent.

An integrated value chain that supports sustainable development and strengthens Egypt's role in Africa — across mining, petroleum, agriculture and the healthcare infrastructure that the next decade will need.
